The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abubakar made the call when the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, paid him a courtesy visit in Sokoto on Sunday.

Abubakar said “do not lose focus; Almighty God will support you.”

He also commended the Nigerian Army for ensuring peaceful coexistence in the North East and other parts of the country.

He urged the Nigerian Army to imbibe the culture of peace in the society and ensure peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

In his remarks, Buratai assured continuous commitment in making the country a peaceful place.

He condoled with the Sultan on the death of the 18th Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki and prayed Allah to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

He said “the loss of Sultan Dasuki was not for the state but the entire country and the world at large.”
