The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has dismissed rumours making rounds that vaccines for polio and some other diseases contain poisonous substances.

Speaking on Tuesday during a courtesy call on Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, the monarch warned those peddling such claim to stop politicizing health issues of innocent Nigerians.

He expressed displeasure at insinuations that vaccines meant for immunization has been contaminated to poison certain groups of people and followers of certain religion in the country.

The Sultan insist that the vaccines were not meant to kill anybody but protect Nigerians from communicable diseases.
