Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon, has expressed his joy following Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Angola in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Friday.

Simon played a crucial role in securing the win, providing the decisive assist for Ademola Lookman’s goal, which proved to be the difference between the two teams.

Lookman capitalized on Simon’s perceptive pass to net his third goal of the knockout stage, showcasing the synergy within the Super Eagles’ attacking lineup.

Throughout the match, Simon’s dazzling runs and dribbles posed a constant threat to Angola’s defense, earning him praise for his performance on the pitch.

Despite his pivotal contribution to the team’s success, Simon narrowly missed out on extending Nigeria’s lead when his low shot was blocked after a fine move between two Angola defenders.

Reflecting on the victory, Simon expressed his delight and gratitude for the support the Super Eagles received from Nigerians. “I am really happy for the victory against Angola, and I feel very happy because the win is for Nigerians,” he said.

“I really appreciate the support Nigerians have given to the Super Eagles, and they should keep supporting us.”
