As the Super Eagles gear up for their quarter-final clash against the Palancas Negras of Angola in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, defender Ola Aina has acknowledged the formidable challenge that awaits them.

Scheduled to take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Friday, the match promises to be a stern test for Pedro Goncalves’ side, who have showcased impressive form throughout the tournament, securing three wins out of four games.

Reflecting on the upcoming fixture, Aina emphasized the need for the Super Eagles to maintain their focus and determination, echoing the sentiments shared by his teammates.

“We will approach the game as we have been doing since the start of the tournament. Same determination and focus,” Aina remarked during a media interaction following the team’s training session at the Police College, Cocody, Abidjan, on Monday night.

Acknowledging the strength of the Angolan team, Aina highlighted the need for the Super Eagles to elevate their performance to secure a victory. “Angola is a strong team, they did well in the group stage and are no pushovers. It’s going to be a tough game for us,” he admitted.

Despite the anticipated challenge, Aina expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and collective effort. “We will keep working hard in training ahead of the game. Hopefully, we will get things right on matchday,” he concluded.
