Super Eagles and Fulham FC winger Samuel Chukwueze has been thrown into mourning following the death of his mother.
The heartbreaking news was made public by his brother, David Chukwueze, who shared a series of emotional messages on his Instagram story expressing deep grief over the loss. David wrote touching tributes such as
Can’t even post your picture to say RIP Mum, My forever love just left me without saying goodbye,
and:
You didn’t even carry your grandchild.
Samuel Chukwueze, who recently helped Nigeria finish third at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, is yet to issue an official statement.
The sad development comes just days after another tragedy hit the Super Eagles camp, as team captain Wilfred Ndidi also lost his father in a fatal car accident. The back-to-back losses have sparked an outpouring of sympathy from fans and the football community for the affected players and their families.
