The Supreme Court has reversed the Court of Appeal’s ruling, removing Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP). The apex court, in a unanimous decision, ruled the Appeal Court lacked jurisdiction to decide on the party’s leadership, which is an internal matter. The court also noted Abure’s tenure had ended, okaynews.com reports.

The court determined that the Court of Appeal had overstepped its jurisdiction by ruling on Abure’s chairmanship, after previously acknowledging the case concerned the party’s internal leadership.

The Supreme Court emphasized that leadership disputes are internal party matters, outside the purview of the courts. Additionally, the court noted that Abure’s tenure as chairman had already expired. The court also dismissed the Abure faction’s cross-appeal.
