A Supreme Court in Abuja has declared Donald Duke as the authentic presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the 2019 general elections.

Okay Nigeria reported that a Court of Appeal had earlier pass a judgement declaring declaring Duke the authentic presidential candidate of the SDP.

However, an FCT High Court that disqualified him as the party’s flag bearer.

The judgment was delivered by the Supreme Court presided over by Justices Ejembi Eko, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Amiru Sanusi, Paul Galumje and Uwani Aji, declared him the authentic party’s flag bearer and also awarded N3m in favour of Duke.

Duke at the party primaries held on 6th October 2018, polled 812 votes to defeat his rival, Prof. Jerry Gana, who polled 611.
