The Supreme Court of Nigeria has upheld a previous ruling that invalidates Emmanuel Bwacha’s nomination as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba state.

The five-member panel, led by Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, confirmed the decision of the Federal High Court in Jalingo, which had declared in September 2022 that the APC did not conduct a valid governorship primary in the state.

David Sabo Kente, an aspirant in the race, had filed a lawsuit challenging Bwacha’s candidacy.

With the Supreme Court’s ruling, Bwacha will no longer be able to run for governor under the APC ticket.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
