Suspected Cultists Arrested On Initiation Ground In Ogun

The police in Ogun on Tuesday apprehended four suspected cultists at Olorunwa in Ota, during initiation rituals.

Adeleke Busayo 19, Adetunji Joshua, 25, Adeyemi Olusegun, 19, and Usman Quyum, 18 were being initiated into HAOI PYRATE Confraternity when the police clamped down on them.

Acting on a tip-off, detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Onipanu, Baba Maiyaki, a Chief Superintendent (CSP), caught all four new converts, but their leader identified as Bambo was said to have fled.

Confirming the arrest, the command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) said the suspects have made useful confessions, adding that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Eleweran.

He said that Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspects be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
