ILORIN, Nigeria – Suspected terrorists killed three soldiers during a predawn attack on a military camp in the Kemanji community of Kwara State on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Okay News reports that an unnamed local source detailed the sudden assault in the Kaiama Local Government Area.

The attackers stormed the soldiers’ camp without warning at approximately 3:00 a.m. WAT, engaging security operatives in a gun battle. Heavy gunfire echoed across the area during the incident.

“Kemanji is a border community, close to the border, so there are thick forests around the place,” the local source said.

“Few of the soldiers were asleep around 3am today when the terrorists invaded their camp and killed three of them before others launched a reprisal attack on the terrorists,” the source said.

The gun battle left confirmed casualties on the side of the military forces.
