SWAGA: Presidency Did Not Endorse Adeyeye, Claims Are Misleading

The South-West Agenda for Asiwaju Tinubu (SWAGA), Ekiti State chapter, has refuted allegations that the presidency has endorsed Senator Dayo Adeyeye as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Ekiti State election, okaynews.com reports.

In a statement released yesterday, coordinator Tayo Afele described these claims as misleading and designed to sow division within the APC and incite political unrest. Afele pointed out that similar deceptive tactics had been used in the past, referencing the unauthorized distribution of Senator Adeyeye’s governorship campaign posters during his time as a senator.

Afele urged APC members and the public to dismiss the rumors, emphasizing SWAGA’s dedication to promoting APC ideals and supporting credible candidates for the 2026 election. He cautioned those responsible for the false claims to stop their actions, which could create discord within the party.

SWAGA reaffirmed its support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, praising his performance in office, and called on party members to maintain loyalty to the governor and the APC. “We urge our party members and the public to disregard the claims, which are baseless and misleading. We warn those behind the claims to desist from such acts, which are capable of causing disaffection among party members. We reaffirm our support for Governor Oyebanji, who has performed well in office, and urge party members to remain loyal to the governor and the APC,” Afele stated.
