Scholarship Coverage

The Sydney International Student Awards offer a 20% contribution toward tuition fees for the duration of the recipient’s course at the University of Sydney.

Eligibility Criteria for Sydney International Student Awards

To qualify for the Sydney International Student Awards, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Language Requirement: Proficiency in English.
  • Eligible Countries: Open to students from all world countries.Specific eligible countries include:
    • Bangladesh
    • Cambodia
    • India
    • Indonesia
    • Japan
    • Malaysia
    • Mongolia
    • Myanmar
    • Nepal
    • Pakistan
    • Philippines
    • South Korea
    • Sri Lanka
    • Thailand
    • Turkey
    • Vietnam
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Be an international student.
    • Receive admission into a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree, commencing in 2024.
    • Must not be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia.
    • Must not have already started a degree at the University of Sydney at the time of application. However, applicants are eligible if applying for a second degree.

Note: This award is not available for the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive MBA (EMBA), study abroad, executive education programs, or courses offered in distance mode or to students participating in a Law Dual Degree pathway program.

How to Apply for Sydney International Student Awards

Follow these steps to apply for the Sydney International Student Awards:

  1. Apply for Your Chosen Degree:
    • During the application process, select your nationality.
    • If you are a citizen of an eligible country, you will be prompted to upload a personal statement.
  2. Submit a Personal Statement:
    • Use the provided template to submit a personal statement.
    • Your personal statement should include:
      • Introduction: Tell us about yourself (maximum 200 words).
      • Inspiration: What inspired you to apply to the University of Sydney? (maximum 200 words).
      • Goals: What do you hope to achieve with your studies at the University? How will it help you achieve your goals? (maximum 200 words).
  3. Outcome Notification:
    • If successful, you will be notified via email when you receive your offer of admission.
    • The 20% tuition fee contribution will be applied in your admissions offer letter.
