Not even the meeting of the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) last week could help resolve the crisis which has engulfed the party since the new national assembly was sworn in. The governors of the party have now been charged with the responsibility of bringing the warring parties in the national assembly to the negotiating table and fashioning out a solution.

The governors have raised two committees to liaise with the senate president Bukola Saraki; the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; Senator Ahmed Lawan who ran against Saraki and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who ran against Dogara.

The committee which will try to find a solution to the senate crisis will be headed by Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state who is a former senator; while Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, a former speaker of the House of Representatives will head the committee that will intervene in the House.

The two committees comprise of three members each and they are expected to meet with the warring factions to agree on a deal acceptable to all. We gathered that the gladiators have all accepted the negotiation efforts initiated by the governors.

The APC Governors Forum also met with all state chairmen of APC in the 36 states and the FCT last night.
