Chairman of the Taraba state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Victor Bala, says the death of former Governor of the state Danbaba Suntai is a great loss.

Reacting to the news of the ex-governor’s demise on Wednesday, Bala said Suntai’s name would be written in gold as a peaceful and hardworking governor.

According to the party’s chief, Suntai brought great development to the state during his six years as governor.

He said the former governor would also be remembered for his political maturity in handling the affairs of the state.

”He carried everyone along irrespective of their religious, political or ethnic affiliations,” he said.

Brief History of Danbaba Suntai’s Lifetime

Suntai was involved in a plane crash in October, 2012.

The late governor was born on 30 June, 1961, in Suntai town in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba.

He attended the Federal Government College, Kano, from 1975 to 1980; and the School of Basic Studies at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, from 1980 to 1981.

He was later admitted to the same ABU to read Pharmacy and graduated in 1984.

Suntai was elected governor on the platform of PDP in 2007, becoming the second executive governor of the state.
