The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has commenced the construction of a new 330kV turn-in turn-out transmission line at the Ihovbor Work Centre.

Okay News reports that the project involves the stringing of the Ihovbor–Ajaokuta Transmission Line to strengthen electricity transmission across the national grid.

According to TCN, the new transmission line will enhance the company’s ability to evacuate more power generated from the Azura Power Plant and the NIPP Power Plant to substations nationwide.

The company added that the development will improve transmission channels, create additional capacity and strengthen the reliability of bulk electricity supply.

TCN noted that once completed, the two transmission lines will significantly increase the capacity of the Ihovbor Transmission Substation, helping to improve the stability and efficiency of power distribution within the national grid.
