The Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA has instructed security services in the territory to “sustain the state of law and order” in response to the terror alert on Abuja that the US Embassy in Nigeria issued, assuring residents of its dedication to their safety.

Okay.ng understands that Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, issued the directive during an emergency security conference with the appropriate government authorities in the nation’s capital.

Bello also mandated the reopening of other schools that had been abruptly closed by their owners following the terror scare.

In a statement, Muhammed Hazat Sule, director of information and communication in the FCT Administration, stated that the security alert’s issues were thoroughly reviewed and that steps had been taken to maintain the existing level of security and prevent any breaches.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has urged its citizens to be calm while security forces work tirelessly to maintain the rule of law in Abuja, the capital of the country, according to a portion of the statement.

“The Administration wants to reassure the FCT residents that every precaution has been taken to protect lives and property.

During the meeting, the Minister instructed the security services to take all necessary precautions to shield citizens of the FCT from harm by criminals and other dishonest individuals.

Since the administration has not given permission for any schools to close, those that have already done so should reopen right now.

The FCT Minister reiterated his recommendation to residents to always cooperate with the security agencies by providing pertinent information in a timely manner that would help thwart any type of criminality.

The FCT Administration has thus asked locals and visitors to the area to go about their legitimate business because all security services have been fully engaged to thwart any attempt at an entrance into the FCT.
