The Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, which had been partially closed for repairs over the past seven weeks, has now fully reopened to traffic. The reopening follows extensive repair works, including the installation of lane markings, new streetlights, and CCTV cameras.

Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, confirmed the reopening on Saturday, March 30, in an official statement. Osiyemi expressed gratitude to Lagos residents for their patience and cooperation throughout the repair period, stating, “We sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation, and we look forward to even smoother travels ahead.”

The comprehensive repair efforts aimed to enhance the safety and efficiency of one of Lagos’ vital transportation links. The Third Mainland Bridge serves as a crucial artery for commuters, connecting the mainland to Lagos Island and facilitating the movement of goods and people within the city.

With the bridge now fully operational, motorists can expect improved traffic flow and safer commuting experiences.
