Popular TikTok creator Hamzat Habeeb, known widely as Peller, caused panic online on Sunday after he crashed his Mercedes-Benz during a livestream on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The incident, which unfolded in real time on Instagram, quickly spread across social media and triggered widespread concern among fans.
Okay News reports that the video has since dominated conversations across TikTok, Instagram and X.
The livestream, titled “RIP Peller,” showed the influencer driving alone while visibly distressed. He appeared to be on a phone call believed to be with his girlfriend, Jarvis, amid rumours of a breakup.
Throughout the video, he cried repeatedly and made troubling comments that alarmed viewers.
At one point, he said, “I will use this car and have an accident right now.” In another moment, he added, “I’m scared. I’m scared.”
As the emotional conversation continued, Peller made even more disturbing remarks.
He was heard saying, “If you break up with me, people will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be, they will be mocking me, they will not… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”
Moments later, he veered into another part of the road and deliberately rammed the car into a stone barrier, bringing the livestream to a shocking end.
Viewers could only watch helplessly as the screen shook violently from the impact.
Another clip that emerged after the crash showed bystanders assisting Peller before he was taken to a hospital.
As of the time of this report, the severity of his injuries had not been officially confirmed. Photos shared online revealed that the vehicle sustained heavy damage.
The incident has drawn intense reactions across social media, with many Nigerians expressing concern about the mental health crisis displayed on camera and urging authorities to intervene.
So far, neither Peller nor any relevant authorities have released an official statement on the crash.
