Nigerian veteran dancehall icon, Timaya has been nominated in the 2018 Grammy awards for his collaboration with Morgan Heritage.

The Egberi Papa received this first nomination off Morgan’s new album titled “Avrekedabra”.

Morgan also featured Chubb Rock, Stylo G, Bunji Garlin, Dre Zion and Jaheil in this album.

The album was nominated for the Best Reggae album category and is competing with acts like Chronixx, Common Kings, J Boog, Damian Marley in this category.

Timaya may emerge the first Nigerian-based act with a Grammy award if the album wins in its category against the aforementioned ace dancehall acts at the 60th Grammy Awards.

The 60th Grammy awards will hold on January 28, 2017.
