Tinubu Appoints CAC Chairman, Names Population Commissioners, Confirms Adviser

ABUJA, NIGERIA – Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved key appointments across major federal agencies, naming new leadership for the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), National Population Commission (NPC), and confirming a Special Adviser on Political Economy, Okay News reports.

The President appointed Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission. A former senator representing Katsina Central, Ida holds degrees in Banking & Finance and Law, and previously served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State as well as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

Tinubu also nominated seven individuals as Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission, representing Ekiti, Zamfara, Bauchi, Kwara, Katsina, Jigawa, and Sokoto states. Their appointments are subject to confirmation by the National Assembly. In addition, Dr Yusuf Mohammed was appointed Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo.

The President further confirmed Bala Mohammed Bello as Special Adviser on Political Economy. Bello, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, also previously served as Executive Director at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank. The presidency expressed confidence in the appointees’ ability to support the administration’s agenda for national development.
