Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid tribute to Nigerian women, praising their resilience, strength and contributions to national development.
In a message marking International Women’s Day on Sunday, the president celebrated women across the country and in the diaspora for their role in supporting families, building businesses and shaping the nation’s future.
Tinubu noted that Nigerian women continue to demonstrate courage and determination in homes, farms, markets, offices and leadership positions, helping to hold the country together.
He described women as mothers who nurture, entrepreneurs who build, professionals who lead and citizens who contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s growth.
The president also acknowledged the historic role women have played in the country’s democratic journey, as well as the daily efforts of millions who work to support their families and communities.
Tinubu said the government remains committed to creating opportunities that allow every Nigerian girl to access education and every woman to thrive economically and contribute to national development.
“When Nigerian women rise, Nigeria rises,” the president said while wishing women across the country a happy International Women’s Day.
