President Bola Tinubu has praised the Super Eagles for their display in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final in Ivory Coast, acknowledging their resilience and talent despite their defeat to the host nation.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Sunday, Tinubu commended the team, the coach, the crew, and the entire management team for their hard work and sacrifice throughout the tournament.

The Elephants of Ivory Coast emerged victorious in the 2023 CAF African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final after defeating the Super Eagles 2-1.

However, Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria had achieved a significant victory in the hearts of Africa and the world through their grit, rigour, and determination on the field.

In the statement, Tinubu urged Nigerians not to be discouraged by the loss but to use it as motivation to work harder. He encouraged Nigerian youths to continue pursuing their dreams, assuring them that his administration is committed to supporting their aspirations.

Despite the disappointment of the loss, Tinubu’s words serve as a reminder of the pride and resilience embodied by the Super Eagles and the Nigerian spirit as a whole.
