President Bola Tinubu has strongly denounced the recent attacks in Dutsin-Ma and Kankara Local Government Areas of Katsina State, which resulted in the loss of lives and injuries to several others. The President described the attacks as “grisly and sinister” and vowed to take decisive action to secure citizens and degrade terrorists.

According to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu has directed security agencies to pursue the assailants and ensure they face justice. The President also extended condolences to the families of the deceased, the government, and people of Katsina State, praying for the repose of the souls of the departed.

The attacks, carried out by bandits armed with dangerous weapons, occurred in Gidan Boka village, killing 20 villagers and injuring two others. A police patrol team responding to a distress call was also ambushed near Kurmeji village, resulting in the deaths of three police inspectors, one corporal, and two members of the Katsina Community Watch Corps.

The Katsina State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the incident, stating that the bandits escaped through Dan Nakwabo village, killing five more people. The President’s directive to security agencies aims to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice and to prevent future attacks in the region.
