President Bola Tinubu expressed deep sorrow and condolences following the accidental bombing tragedy that struck Tudun Biri community in Kaduna State.

In a statement conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, titled ‘President Tinubu condoles with Kaduna State government, families of victims over bombing mishap,’ Tinubu sympathized with the affected families and the state government.

Describing the incident as “very unfortunate, disturbing, and painful,” Tinubu expressed dismay and grief over the tragic loss of lives during the Maulud celebration in the Igabi Local Government Area. The mishap, which claimed the lives of at least 85 villagers, sparked widespread outrage and condemnation locally and internationally.

Following the erroneous military bombing during the religious event, community and religious leaders decried the recurring incidents of innocent casualties resulting from military actions. To quell potential tensions, Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe engaged Islamic clerics, while Governor Uba Sani ordered a thorough investigation into the bombing to prevent future occurrences.

Reports indicate that by Monday evening, approximately 93 bodies of victims had been laid to rest, as survivors and eyewitnesses recounted the tragic event.

President Tinubu, responding to the distressing incident, called for a comprehensive investigation into this and similar mishaps that have led to the loss of 386 lives since 2014. He urged calm among the populace while authorities diligently examine the circumstances surrounding the bombing.

Furthermore, Tinubu directed immediate and thorough medical attention for the surviving victims and offered prayers for the departed souls. The president emphasized the need for swift action and a meticulous inquiry into the incident to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
