Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday hosted Christian and Muslim clerics alongside traditional rulers at an interfaith breaking of fast at the State House in Abuja.
Okay News understands that the event brought together religious leaders and monarchs from across the country as Muslims observe Ramadan while Christians mark the Lenten season.
Guests attending the gathering were conveyed to the Presidential Villa in several white coaster buses and arrived at the forecourt of the State House ahead of the dinner.
Among those present at the event were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and other top government officials.
The interfaith dinner forms part of the President’s Ramadan tradition of hosting key stakeholders during the holy month, including political leaders, religious figures, and traditional institutions.
In similar gatherings held during the first week of Ramadan, Tinubu hosted governors and members of the National Assembly, where he emphasised the need for the creation of state police to address security challenges in the country.
The President is also expected to host additional Iftar meetings with members of the diplomatic corps and other stakeholders before the end of Ramadan.
