President Bola Tinubu on Friday received Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, in a meeting focused on regional peace, security, and economic integration across West Africa.
Although specific details were not disclosed, the discussions were believed to centre on strengthening cooperation among member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
President Bio, who currently serves as ECOWAS Chairman after succeeding Tinubu in June, visited Abuja ahead of his address at Baze University’s 12th convocation and engagements with African business leaders.
The visit marks his first official trip to Nigeria since assuming leadership of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The talks are expected to reinforce collaboration on democracy promotion, counterterrorism, and sustainable economic growth within the region.
