Tinubu Inauguarates Abuja Expressway, Assures on Project Completion

Published

Abuja, NIGERIA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned the main carriageways of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) in Abuja, declaring that his administration has ended the era of abandoned public projects.

Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the ceremony on Tuesday, the president stated that finishing critical infrastructure is central to stimulating economic growth and improving the quality of life for citizens. The newly completed segment spans from the Ring Road I Junction to the Ring Road II Junction.

Okay News reports that the project represents a multi-phase development, following the commissioning of the first phase from the Villa Roundabout in 2024 and a service carriageway in 2025. The new expansion is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity between the Apo and Wasa districts.

President Tinubu praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his result-oriented leadership and oversight of the contractors. Wike noted that the project was completed on schedule by the construction firm, CGC Nigeria Limited, following intense site inspections to ensure compliance with the timeline.
