President Bola Tinubu believes has revealed his believe that Nigeria can reverse the trend of skilled workers leaving the country by strengthening the economy, implementing targeted policies, and fostering a stronger sense of national belonging among citizens.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Planning Committee for the National Youth Conference at the State House on Monday, President Tinubu emphasized that his administration’s ongoing economic reforms are aimed at creating a more prosperous future for Nigeria’s youth, who comprise a significant portion of the population.
“Our economic strategies are designed to ensure the well-being of our young people,” President Tinubu stated, according to a release by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga. “The decisions we have made, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, are focused on securing a better future for you. If we build a thriving economy and empower our citizens, the desire to seek opportunities elsewhere will diminish.”

He urged the 44-member planning committee to develop a comprehensive framework for the national conference, assuring them that their recommendations would be taken seriously and implemented. “This is an opportunity for you to contribute to the nation’s progress,” the President said. “Your insights are crucial. We are committed to creating an environment where young people can thrive.”
President Tinubu also highlighted the positive impact of the government’s economic reforms, noting improvements in price stability and investor confidence. “We have worked diligently to stabilize the economy, and we are now seeing positive results,” he said. “Prices are becoming more stable, and investors are showing renewed interest in Nigeria.”

He encouraged the committee to be candid in their assessments and to provide practical solutions. “Feel free to share your concerns and ideas,” he said. “We are open to implementing suggestions that will benefit the country.”
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, expressed gratitude to the President for his commitment to youth empowerment. He cited the student loan scheme, infrastructure projects, and efforts to streamline passport processing as examples of the government’s support for young Nigerians.
