ABUJA, Nigeria: The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre posted an AI-generated image on Friday, July 3, 2026, depicting the country’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, frying and selling akara.
Okay News reports that the media account published the image showing her operating a roadside stand while wearing an apron inscribed with the text, “Iya Alakara, fueling the nation with love.”
The social media post follows recent remarks from the First Lady regarding the capital required to start small businesses. During a previous interview, she stated that the Federal Government was providing grants to citizens starting ventures such as frying akara, roasting corn, or producing kuli kuli.
“We’re trying to give hope, and to start akara business doesn’t take a lot of money. To start roasting corn, or somebody even said kuli kuli doesn’t take much. We didn’t give them a loan; we gave it to them as a grant,” Tinubu said.
