President Bola Tinubu has reappointed two Chief Medical Directors of federal teaching hospitals for a second and final four-year term. Prof.

Abdurrahman Sheshe will continue to lead the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano, while Prof. Yusuf Bara will remain at the helm of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi.

The reappointments, announced by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, take effect from December 5, 2023. The President expects the reappointed hospital chiefs to improve standards and ensure efficient delivery of high-quality services to citizens.

Sheshe was first appointed in 2019, while Bara’s reappointment follows an assessment of his performance during his first term. The President anticipates that Bara will consolidate on his achievements during his second term.
