President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Nigeria on Sunday for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, a gathering aimed at addressing the ongoing issues in the Middle East.

The announcement was made on Saturday by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.

The summit, scheduled to commence on Monday, November 11, 2024, will bring together leaders from the Arab and Islamic worlds.

Hosted at the invitation of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the summit follows last year’s gathering in Riyadh.

During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to address the Israel-Palestinian conflict, reinforcing Nigeria’s call for an immediate ceasefire and advocating for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.

“Nigeria will also advocate for renewed efforts to revive the two-state solution as a pathway to lasting peace in the region,” the statement read.

Accompanying President Tinubu on the trip are key officials, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.
