President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to headline the 8th edition of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), reinforcing his administration’s commitment to engaging Nigerians abroad in the nation’s economic growth and development.

The three-day summit, organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), will be held in Abuja from November 11 to 13, 2025, bringing together policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and creative leaders from across the globe.

Tinubu to Serve as Special Guest of Honour

Announcing the development on Friday in Abuja, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NiDCOM, Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, revealed that President Tinubu would once again attend the annual summit as the Special Guest of Honour.

She noted that the president’s presence underscores the administration’s vision of fostering strong partnerships with Nigerians in the diaspora to drive national transformation and regional development.

According to her, “We are honoured that His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, will once again serve as the Special Guest of Honour. We anticipate the participation of distinguished business leaders, diaspora investors, policy champions, and creative icons who continue to inspire confidence in Nigeria’s potential.”

Okay News reports that the summit serves as a strategic platform to mobilise diaspora investment and innovation for economic growth.

NDIS: A Growing Platform for National Development

Since its creation in 2018, the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) has expanded in reach and influence, connecting Nigerian entrepreneurs, diaspora investors, and government stakeholders across multiple sectors — including real estate, healthcare, agriculture, information and communications technology (ICT), energy, manufacturing, and creative industries.

Dr. Dabiri-Erewa highlighted that the 2024 edition of the summit generated investment commitments worth ₦673 million, with 56 business pitches presented across eight key economic sectors.

“The last edition of the Summit, held in November 2024, showed just how much momentum NDIS has built over the years. It welcomed over 1,500 participants, both online and in person, including 236 investors, 1,197 business owners, and 168 government officials,” she said.

Building on Past Successes

The NiDCOM chief further explained that the upcoming 2025 summit will build on the successes of past editions by attracting more global investors and showcasing innovative ideas that can transform Nigeria’s regional economies.

She disclosed that the event has also contributed over ₦500 million to Nigeria’s local economy, through services procured from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and creative professionals engaged during past summits.

“The theme for this year is ‘Fast-Tracking Regional and National Development by Mobilising Diaspora Investment’,” she said, emphasizing the Commission’s determination to continue harnessing the skills, knowledge, and resources of Nigerians abroad.

Focus Sectors and Participation

The 2025 NDIS will spotlight strategic sectors such as finance and financial technology (fintech), ICT, creative industries, sports and entertainment, agribusiness, healthcare, education, real estate and infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy.

Registration for participants is currently open on the official website www.ndisng.com.

Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerians in the diaspora and local entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity to collaborate, exchange ideas, and drive impactful investments that align with national priorities.

A Symbol of Confidence in Nigeria’s Economic Future

The participation of President Tinubu in this year’s summit, stakeholders say, reflects growing confidence in Nigeria’s economic direction and its potential to attract sustained diaspora investments.

By connecting innovators, investors, and policymakers, the 2025 NDIS aims to strengthen Nigeria’s global investment ecosystem and fast-track inclusive national development.
