MAIDUGURI, Nigeria – Troops of Sector 4 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have arrested a suspected foreign terrorist fighter and an illegal immigrant during counter-terrorism operations in Borno State.
According to an official statement released on Monday, Okay News reports that the arrests were executed on July 19, 2026, by operatives of the 115 Task Force Battalion in the Lassa and Dille general areas of Askira/Uba Local Government Area.
Military intelligence identified the first suspect as Musa Fashir, a 32-year-old Sudanese national allegedly linked to foreign insurgent networks operating in the North East. Additionally, troops detained Mary Florence, a 36-year-old claiming Ghanaian nationality, whose presence and legal status in the conflict zone are currently undergoing verification.
Acting Military Information Officer Captain Mohammed Goni confirmed that both suspects remain in military custody undergoing preliminary profiling and interrogation. He reiterated that Operation HADIN KAI remains committed to dismantling transnational insurgent supply chains, preventing foreign fighter infiltration, and restoring lasting stability across the region.
