WASHINGTON, United States – President Donald Trump recorded approximately $1.2 billion in income from cryptocurrency activities in 2025.
Okay News reports that the US Office of Government Ethics released financial disclosure documents on Tuesday detailing the earnings.
The filings, which exceed 900 pages, show the president received nearly $550 million from his connection to the startup World Liberty Financial. The platform launched in September 2024 and issued its own cryptocurrency, WLFI, generating $550 million in an initial sale.
The president and his three sons obtained an additional 22.5 billion WLFI tokens through an intermediary company, DT Marks Defi, with a current valuation of around $1.3 billion. In April 2025, World Liberty Financial also marketed a stablecoin pegged to the dollar.
The disclosure lists $635 million in royalties from a licensing agreement related to the $TRUMP cryptocurrency, which launched prior to the presidential inauguration in January 2025. The former real estate developer also earned several million dollars from shares in publicly listed cryptocurrency companies, including the Coinbase exchange platform.
Forbes reported that the personal wealth of the president increased from $2.3 billion to $6.5 billion between 2024 and 2026. The assets are held in a trust managed by Donald Trump Jr., containing bylaws that stipulate the entity can be dissolved at any time.
