Washington, District of Columbia, United States — The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has said the United States military campaign against Iran is nearing completion but warned that the country will face “extremely hard” attacks over the next two to three weeks.
Okay News reports that the remarks came during his first national address since the conflict began on Friday, February 28, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched a major military operation against Iran. Speaking from the White House, Trump sought to reassure Americans that the military effort was close to achieving its objectives.
“Thanks to the progress we’ve made, I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly, very shortly,” Trump said.
He added that while core strategic goals were almost achieved, the campaign would intensify. “We are going to hit them, extremely hard, over the next two to three weeks,” he stated.
Trump also addressed regional allies, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain, which have reported Iranian drone and missile attacks. He said the United States would ensure they were protected and would not “get hurt or fail in any way, shape or form.”
The United States president suggested negotiations could still take place with Iran’s new leadership, which he described as “less radical and much more reasonable.” However, he warned that if talks failed, Washington had identified key targets including Iran’s power generation facilities.
The conflict has also shaken global energy markets. Oil prices rose after Trump urged countries to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway through which about one fifth of the world’s oil supply normally passes. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have vowed to keep the route closed to what they described as enemies.
Iran rejected calls for a ceasefire, describing United States proposals as “maximalist and irrational.” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said messages had been exchanged through intermediaries, including Pakistan, but confirmed that no direct negotiations were underway.
The conflict has continued to escalate across the Middle East. Missile and drone attacks targeted Israeli cities including Tel Aviv and Eilat, while United States military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait were also hit. Emergency services in Israel reported that an Iranian missile strike wounded 14 people, including an 11-year-old girl.
Explosions were also reported in Tehran, while strikes damaged infrastructure in Isfahan province. Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, accused the United States and Israel of acting without moral limits.
The conflict has spread beyond Iran and Israel, with air strikes reported in Lebanon and drone interceptions in Saudi Arabia. Authorities in the United Arab Emirates confirmed that a Bangladeshi national was killed by shrapnel from an intercepted drone.
The situation remains volatile as diplomatic efforts continue and military operations intensify across the region.
