Washington D.C., USA – Tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate as United States President Donald Trump threatened fresh and “very hard” strikes on Iran, while Tehran insisted it would never surrender despite ongoing attacks.
Okay News reports that the conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran has now entered its second week with no clear signs of de-escalation.
In a statement posted on social media, Trump warned that Iran would face severe military action, claiming Tehran had already “surrendered” to neighbouring countries by promising not to target them.
However, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the country would only refrain from attacking regional states unless attacks on Iran originated from their territory.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had launched another wave of missile and drone attacks targeting military sites linked to the United States and Israel. The military also warned that if strikes against Iran continue, all American and Israeli military bases and interests across the region would be treated as “primary targets.”
Reports from Tehran indicated that multiple explosions were heard in the Iranian capital following new Israeli air raids, while fighting also spread to other parts of the region. In Lebanon, at least 26 people were reported killed in Israeli air attacks in the eastern Bekaa Valley, as international calls for diplomacy grow amid fears of a wider regional war.
