Abuja, Nigeria – The Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the Adolphus Wabara-led Board of Trustees (BoT) in Abuja.
Okay News reports that this is the faction’s third meeting this week as efforts to resolve the party’s internal crisis intensify.
Following a similar meeting on Wednesday, the Turaki-led group expressed its willingness to reconcile with the rival camp led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, noting positive signs of an impending truce.
The Wike-backed caretaker committee, led by Abdulrahman Mohamed, has also stated it is open to reconciliation, provided certain conditions are met—most notably, that its planned national convention scheduled for March 29 and 30 must go ahead.
Notable figures attending the ongoing meeting include Turaki, Wabara, former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, and former Information Minister Prof. Jerry Gana.
