There medical students, Mustapha Aminu Tukur, Kabir Hamza, and Aisha Celestine Ogwu were found dead following a boat capsizing incident in the Calabar Channel.

Okay.ng reports that the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at approximately 3pm local time. Their bodies were since recovered in the early hours of June 26, 2023, by the search team.

According to information gathered by our correspondent, the ill-fated boat, carrying a total of 14 individuals, including the driver, met with a tragic accident.

The Calabar Channel, known for its bustling water traffic, proved treacherous as high waves likely battered the overloaded vessel, leading to its sudden capsize.

Despite ongoing search and rescue operations, there is little hope of finding the three remaining missing medical students alive. The search efforts continue unabated, but the passage of time and the circumstances surrounding the incident have made the chances of their survival increasingly slim.

Mustapha Aminu Tukur, who was the incumbent Vice President of the Ahmadu Bello University Medical Students Association (ABUMSA), was one of the victims in this heart-wrenching tragedy.

Mustapha was known for his exemplary leadership qualities and dedication to the medical profession.
