Guinea’s government says that two people in Guinea have tested positive for Ebola, months after the country was declared free of the virus.

Ibrahima Sylla, spokesman for the national coordination for the fight against Ebola, said Thursday samples from two dead bodies tested positive for the virus.

The bodies were tested in Koropara, in the N’Zerekore prefecture about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) southeast of Conakry.

Sylla said there are three other probable cases. He said health authorities have taken appropriate measures to contain the spread.

Guinea was declared free from Ebola on Dec. 29. It would be celebrating the end of its 90-day surveillance period at the end of March.

The deadliest outbreak of Ebola in history has killed more than 11,300 people, mostly in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
