Borno State Police Command has said that two Boko Haram suicide bombers attacked the Sabon Gari village market in Damboa council area killing three people, when they detonated bombs in the market , Tuesday.

Five other traders, were also injured and were taken to an undisclosed Biu hospital.

Sabon Gari is in Sambisa Forest on the Maiduguri-Biu road; and 150
kilometres south of Maiduguri, the state capital.

Police commissioner, Mr. Aderemi Opadokun in a telephone interview,Wdnesday, in Maiduguri disclosed that three traders died in the Sabon Gari twin blasts.

“The insurgents are continued to attack soft targets – markets, motor parks and hospitals in the Sambisa Forests and its environs,” said Opadokun.

“Yes, on Tuesday morning at about 11am; twin explosions occurred at the Sabon Gari market in Damboa council area of Borno state; after two suspected suicide bombers sneaked into the village market square and detonated the explosives strapped to their bodies; and killed three persons. The suspects also died in the blasts, while five (5) others sustained injuries,” said Opadokun.
