The Chief Executive of Uber, Dara Khosrowshahi, on Monday wrote an open letter to apologise on behalf of the company for its ”mistakes”.

The taxi app giant is on the verge of losing its licence in London as the city transport regulator refused to renew its licence, saying Uber is unfit to operate in the UK capital.

Uber has since commenced series of campaigns to prevent that from happening.

Khosrowshahi, who has just been made the boss of the company a month ago, said in the open letter that Uber would appeal against the city’s decision, but added that the company has accepted that it “must change”.

”On behalf of everyone at Uber globally, I apologise for the mistakes we’ve made,” he said.

The letter, which was addressed to Londoners, the new boss said the firm “won’t be perfect, but we will listen” to commendations from its clients.

Over 730,000 people have so far signed an online petition to keep Uber in the city.
