Nollywood actress Uche Montana has publicly denied claims linking her to the reported drug abuse situation involving actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Montana issued a statement on her Instagram page on Monday, refuting suggestions that she had any role in undermining Daniels’ rehabilitation. The clarification follows Nwoko’s recent Facebook post accusing Daniels’ friends and family, including Montana and actress Sonia Uche, of sabotaging her recovery.
Nwoko had alleged that the group repeatedly ignored medical guidance, bringing substances to Daniels that she was being treated for.
Responding, Montana stated, “My attention has been drawn to a circulating post that appears to link my name to certain claims. For clarity, I have no involvement or connection to the situation described. This note is simply to set the record straight and protect my peace.”
Her response comes amid growing controversy surrounding Daniels and Nwoko’s marriage. Two weeks ago, Daniels, in a widely circulated video, claimed she faced domestic abuse and described herself as a “slave” in her husband’s home.
Nwoko countered, stating that his wife struggles with “drug and alcohol addiction” and accused her of violent behaviour towards household staff. Daniels, in turn, accused Nwoko of introducing her to the substances, restricting her freedom, confiscating her phones, and forcing himself on her when she resisted.
Uche Montana’s statement seeks to distance her from the ongoing dispute and reject any connection to the alleged drug activities surrounding the couple.
