The United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) on Monday sought the approval of a London court to legally confiscate cash seized from Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and four others, whose identities are yet to be established.

Alison-Madueke and her co-accused were briefly detained on Friday by the agency on allegations of bribery and money laundering.

The NCA filed the application at the Westminster Magistrates Court and was approved under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
