UK Police arrest Ekweremadu, wife over organ harvesting

The Metropolitan Police in London who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday said the duo were arrested and charged following an investigation by the investigation by the police’ specialist crime team.

Okay.ng has learned that Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55, and Ike Ekweremadu, 60, will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today.

A source who is very close to the Ekweremadu family confirmed the incident.

A source close to the Ekweremadu family, who pleaded anonymity confirmed that the allegations leveled against Ekweremadu are exaggerated.

“We have heard of the incident, however, the charges leveled against him (Ekweremadu) and his wife are mere exaggerations. Let’s wait for the final findings and not rush to make hasty conclusions,” the source added.

Ike Ekweremadu is a politician and lawyer who has been in the Senate for 19 years.

He is a member of the People’s Democratic Party and was the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for three consecutive Senate.
