The Metropolitan Police in London who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday said the duo were arrested and charged following an investigation by the investigation by the police’ specialist crime team.

Okay.ng has learned that Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55, and Ike Ekweremadu, 60, will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today.

Ike Ekweremadu is a politician and lawyer who has been in the Senate for 19 years.

He is a member of the People’s Democratic Party and was the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for three consecutive Senate.
