Non-academic staff of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Monday protested against “the Federal Government’s unequal distribution of allowance.”

The protesting staff shut the school’s main gate, blocking vehicular movement around the school premises.

According to reports, the protest, which began in the morning, caused traffic gridlock in major highways leading to the tertiary institution’s gate.

The workers were seen singing freedom songs and held leaves to make their case.

Further reports show that they accused the Federal Government of downgrading their importance in the nation’s education system.
