A lone auto accident occurred along the University Road of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) on Thursday afternoon, leaving several students injured. The accident involved a small commercial bus, popularly called ‘Korope’, which suffered a tire burst while in motion.

Eyewitnesses reported that one of the victims lost an arm, while another female student appeared lifeless on the road. A video of the accident scene showed victims writhing in pain, with one male student struggling to stand up.

The university’s security officials were seen managing the situation, and a spokesman for the school, Kunle Akogun, confirmed the accident. However, he stated that there were no casualties, and those involved were being treated at the school clinic.

The accident is a concerning incident for the university community, and an investigation into the cause of the tire burst is expected to be conducted. The university authorities have not released an official statement on the incident, but it is hoped that the injured students will receive proper medical attention and make a speedy recovery.
