Union-bank

Union Bank PLC has introduced SMS banking, into their banking system.

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) pioneered of SMS banking which you can open an account, check account balance, transfer funds by just dialling *737#. Therefore, you do not need an internet connection to be able to bank on the go.

However, unlike the GTB style of SMS banking, Union Bank has just one feature enabled in its SMS banking; which is the ”Check your balance”. According to them, other features like transfer funds, view transaction history, etc will be introduced with time.

For now, you can use your mobile phone to check your account balance on your Union bank account, without using the internet by just texting ”Bal” to 20123
