SOKOTO, Nigeria – The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has approved the immediate dismissal of Malam Garba Ahmed from the institution’s service. The decision was reached during the Council’s 176th meeting held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

According to a press release issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Ismaila Mohammed Yauri, and made available to Okay News on Friday, 3 April 2026, Malam Garba was found guilty of illegally uploading unqualified students for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization. Before his dismissal, he was a staff member in the university’s Registry Department.

The University Governing Council stated that the dismissal takes effect from the date of the meeting and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward any acts of serious or gross misconduct among its staff.
