Hollywood icon Viola Davis has made history as the 18th person to win all four of the most prestigious awards in entertainment, the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards).

The EGOT is a distinction awarded to individuals who have won all four awards in the competitive categories.

The 57-year-old actor took home a Grammy for her audiobook narration and storytelling of her best-selling memoir “Finding Me.”

During the pre-telecast ceremony in Los Angeles, Davis expressed her joy and gratitude for the award, saying, “I wrote this book to honor the six-year-old Viola,” she said at the pre-telecast ceremony in Los Angeles.

“To honor her life, her joy, her trauma, everything. And, it has just been such a journey — I just EGOT!”

The talented actress was up against some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including comedian Mel Brooks, who already holds an EGOT; composer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is one Oscar away from completing the EGOT; and actor Jamie Foxx and musician Questlove, both of whom are Oscar and Grammy winners.

Davis has previously won an Oscar for best supporting actress in “Fences” in 2017, a Tony (her second) for the same role in August Wilson’s play in 2010, and an Emmy for best actress in a drama for “How to Get Away with Murder” in 2015.

Viola Davis joins the elite group of EGOT winners, including Jennifer Hudson, Whoopi Goldberg, Rita Moreno, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and John Legend.

The actress has made her mark in the entertainment industry and continues to inspire and captivate audiences with her performances.
