The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) has officially opened public voting for the 8th edition of the .ng Awards, with 88 nominees shortlisted across 19 categories celebrating excellence and innovation in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

According to NiRA, voting commenced on October 31, 2025, and will remain open until midnight on November 19, 2025. The annual awards recognise individuals, institutions, and organisations that have leveraged the .ng country code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) to enhance Nigeria’s online identity and promote local digital innovation.

Over the past eight years, the .ng Awards have honoured more than 100 organisations and digital pioneers, serving as a platform to both celebrate success and promote the growth of Nigeria’s digital space.

NiRA President, Adesola Akinsanya, described this year’s edition as a defining moment in the country’s digital journey.

“The 8th edition of the .ng Awards is a celebration of progress and innovation within Nigeria’s digital ecosystem. Each nominee represents the growing trust, relevance, and adoption of the .ng domain across industries,” he said.

The 2025 edition is particularly significant as it coincides with NiRA’s 20th anniversary, marking two decades of leadership and commitment to advancing Nigeria’s internet landscape.

Chair of the .ng Awards Committee, Peter Oluka, commended the shortlisted nominees, saying the milestone year underscores NiRA’s evolution as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s digital identity.

“We congratulate all 88 shortlisted nominees for their continuous contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s digital space through the .ng domain. This year’s awards carry even greater meaning as we celebrate two decades of NiRA’s excellence,” he stated.

NiRA’s Chief Operating Officer, Oluwaseyi Onasanya, highlighted the awards’ role in showcasing the .ng domain as a unifying foundation for Nigeria’s digital presence.

“The .ng Awards reflect NiRA’s broader mission of showcasing the .ng domain as the foundation of Nigeria’s digital identity,” she noted.

Categories for this year’s edition include Best Banking Website/Portal, .ng FinTech Company of the Year, Most Innovative Service Provider Online, Best E-commerce Website, Best Print and Online Media Website, Digital Innovation in State and Federal Government, and the prestigious Company of the Year award.

The .ng Awards are divided into two segments: General Awards, which are open to public nominations and votes, and Presidential Awards, personally conferred by NiRA’s leadership in recognition of exceptional contributions to Nigeria’s internet growth.

Winners will be announced at the .ng Awards Night in December 2025, following a transparent evaluation process guided by NiRA’s established criteria.

Members of the public can view the full list of nominees and cast their votes at www.nira.org.ng/ngawards2025.
